Festuca novae-zelandiae, known as fescue tussock or hard tussock, is a native grass species found in New Zealand’s alpine and subalpine regions. Its fine, tufted foliage with an upright habit, forms dense mats, contributing to soil stabilization in mountainous environments. Resilient and adaptable, it provides habitat for alpine wildlife. Grows to 60cm height.
