Pittosporum tenuifolium, commonly referred to as kohuhu, or black matipo, is a versatile evergreen tree native to New Zealand. Its slender, dark-green leaves and compact growth habit make it a popular choice for hedging and landscaping. In spring, it produces clusters of fragrant, dark-purple flowers. Growing to 10m tall, Pittosporum tenuifolium is a tree of coastal to montane shrubland and forest habitats. Moderate flammability species.
