It grows up to 2m in height and spreads across the ground, creating a dense, tangled mat. The plant features small, delicate, pinnate leaves and produces bright yellow, pea-like flowers in spring and early summer. These flowers are followed by characteristic twisted seed pods. Sophora prostrata thrives in well-drained soils and full sun, making it ideal for rock gardens and coastal planting. It’s valued for its unique, contorted growth habit and striking floral display.
