Poa cita, commonly known as silver tussock, is a native New Zealand grass species found in lowland to subalpine. Grassland, grazed pasture, open, scrub and forest, coastal cliffs: on relatively fertile soils. Its fine, silvery foliage forms dense tussocks, adding texture and visual interest to mountain landscapes. Resilient and adaptable, it contributes to soil stabilization and provides habitat for alpine wildlife. Can grow up to 1m high.
